The Return of Cafe Racers (Why and When?)
Some of us greasers love motorcycles, it doesn’t matter if we own one or if we don’t, it doesn’t matter if we had ride one or we have never been on a bike. Bottom line, we love them. It could be a Harley, an Indian, or a cafe racer.
My motorcycle came to me as a gift, I noticed the motorcycle that my neighbor owned was losing parts, someone was stealing parts! I told the owner and he said… “you want it? You can have it” 😮
I have never owned a motorcycle, I don’t have a lot of money, so I figured I could get it and sell it. It required work but it looked beautiful!
As time went by I slowly fell in love with my motorcycle, it was a symbol of freedom and not giving up, why? Cause I had to deal with, the pink slip since I didn’t have one, fixing it, getting parts, money, time, patience! And on top of that I had to fix my 64 GMC van and my 79 C10, not to mention, rent, dates, bills, E T.C. but she is a symbol of strength and endurance, just like my 64 is a symbol of faith and my C10 a symbol of power.
Cars and motorcycles can be your teachers, they are like angels in mechanical form. They teach you lots of things, they choose you. Sometimes you don’t choose them.
My motorcycle is a 78 550 four Honda and she is a reminder of not giving up.
